A morning board that only the planner understands is decoration. Crews need zone, job type, parts status, and expected return time in one look before the first van rolls out.
Use large zone labels that match how drivers already speak: riverside, CBD, east industrial. Avoid codes that require a legend taped beside the board.
Colour should mark status, not decoration. One colour for awaiting parts, one for client access pending, one for ready to leave. Too many shades turn the wall into noise under fluorescent light.
Update discipline matters more than software. If the board still shows yesterday’s unfinished jobs at 07:30, trust collapses. Assign one person to clear overnight closures before the huddle.
